The KWUDP is a component of the Hawaii Water Plan which serves as
a dynamic, long-range planning guide for the Commission on Water Resource
Management.
Key goals of the KWUDP are to provide guidance for the
island’s water resource managers, ensuring that future water needs of the
county are met while preserving the integrity of the island’s water
resources. It is also to provide guidance to ensure that sustainable water
resources are integrated into the county’s formulation and development of
land use policies.
