April 30, UPDATE: Intermittent lane closure notices for Pu’uwai Road and Po’ohiwi Road

KALĀHEO – The Department of Water (DOW) and its contractor, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. (HDCCI), announce the extension of the intermittent lane closure notices for portions of Pu’uwai Road and Po’ohiwi Road, for the Kalāheo Water Systems Improvements Project.  DOW thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while ongoing waterline work continues.

The following areas are affected, weather permitting:

  • The intersection of Kikala Road and Puʻuwai Road through July 1, 2025;
  • Poʻohiwi Road through Sept. 30, 2025;
  • The intersection of Poʻohiwi Road and Puʻuwai Road through Sept. 30, 2025;
  • The gravel portion of Puʻuwai Road through Oct. 29, 2025.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving through these areas, follow the directions of flaggers and adhere to posted signs.
